How wide should my hood be?
Typically, folks like their hood the same width as their range. Some choose to oversize it a bit if they have the space to give it more of a “presence”.
How tall should my hood be?
We have a simple worksheet you can request, that may be helpful. But, it is pretty simple. Take your overall ceiling height minus your range height minus the amount of empty blower space you want from burner to hood (no more than 36″) and the remainder is the height. If you have a soffit, cabinet, molding or the like above…include that in your calculation as well. Our staff is here to help if you need us.
Can I use my own blower?
Yes. Some folks get a great deal when they buy an entire appliance package. Or you may have a really great blower inside a wooden cabinet that you want to re-purpose. All we need are the specs/dimensions and we can custom make your belly to accommodate it. Your blower needs to be on site for final fit and finish.
Do I have to pay in full to start my hood?
We typically request 60% down plus blower cost to get started. The final payment isn’t due until completion and prior to shipping.
What are your typical lead times?
We currently run 18-20 weeks lead time.
Is the installation difficult?
No. We ship all over the country to a variety of folks. Custom builders, designers, architects and sometimes direct to the end user. Typically, you will need two people for a small hood and up to 3-4 for larger hoods to hang. We design these with a cavity in the back to receive a simple 2×4 blocking piece that can be anchored and leveled before you start. The hood rests on this blocking and you secure the rest of the fasteners via the open cavity where the blower is housed. (it should be placed aside during install). The hook up is about as simple as installing a ceiling fan, so no worries. Also, we are here to help and include instructions in your crate.
